I apologize if you’ve already heard about this game from me before, but I recently got moved to a new position which took a lot of my focus, time, and attention lately. For all the Jakes out there, I’m sorry.
The back story of this game was what really made it worth mentioning. It was 12:10 PM and I needed to be 20 minutes away by 1:00 PM, which gives us a 30 minute window to work with. I told Czarni that I probably didn’t have time to play a game and he responded with “NONSENSE!” So we queued. I played on a smurf and told him that if the game went longer than 12:40 I had to quit. I think Riot knew because they kept putting warnings up that said “Leaving match-made games will result in a ban,” and other such silliness.
I knew we had to win in 20 minutes. Luckily, around the 15 minute point the enemy team said “we’ll surrender at 20!” This was shortly after I ran into Blitz and Akali in the enemy jungle, at the bush just west of bot lane’s furthest turret. I finished Akali off first because she had recently acquired double buffs from my Amumu, so the extra slow from red buff would be thoroughly useful in slowing Blitz down so he doesn’t just uppercut me and run away. I finish off Blitz with the slow and some spells and then I turn to walk down bot lane back towards a comfy spot to recall.
ENCHANTED CRYSTAL ARROW! Right across my nose! Ashe must have been feeling brave. So I turn the corner into river and sit in the bush and start to recall. Activating my shield stops my recall as Ashe comes prancing down the river, walking by the bush I’m standing in. It’s too late before she realizes. A shield and stun combo take her to within an auto attack. The burn from red buff finishes her off as she tries to run away. She didn’t touch me, but being at about 1/4 health from the initial fight I’m still planning on going back. Then Blood Scent activates. Warwick is in bot lane.
Even though I’m glowing from his ability detecting me I don’t think the player has seen me yet. He is at full health and I’m still sitting at 1/4, but I have everything if he wants to fight. I start to charge my shield once I am within range that he should notice me. He doesn’t look up from the creeps he’s leisurely swiping at. I step in closer. Nothing. Closer still. Totally oblivious. I don’t want to try to kill him because that would drop my defenses, so I just go to stun him. Just as I click on him he starts to get creep blocked. This is normally a good indicator that the kid on the other end of the interwebs just noticed AP Sion staring him in the eye. Cryptic Gaze, staring him… in the… aw, never mind.
Warwick jumps to action, ulting me. However, Cryptic Gaze is already mid air. As soon as he leaps on me he’s immediately stunned. His ult just worked to teleport Warwick to my location. He fought valiantly, but I left that fight with more health than I started with thanks to my ult. I finished up the unofficial quadra kill and recalled to safety.
The surrender vote came out as expected (and promised) and I was able to take a quick screenshot for you guys and log off. One underlying bonus of this game was the creep score. 154 is pretty decent for a 20 minute game. Nothing spectacular, but when you see that 65 was the second best in the game it has some more weight to it. Oh, Miss Fortune was mid this game.
