GG So Easy

In the loading screen of this game I thought it was pretty cool that I had a Platinum Nunu on my team. I congratulated him on hitting that milestone. He countered with “I’m actually more like 900 elo, I just got carried.” Haha! This kid gots jokes! I just wish he was kidding.

During the loading screen it looked like we would have a Blitzstar lane, which is Blitzcrank and Alistar. It amounts to a ton of crowd control and the worse possible situation for an AD carry. I didn’t think that the Blitzstar lane would give us much of a problem as I had faced it before (when I was Kog) and had managed to do well against it. However, Dan started to spectate my game and said “That Blitzcrank is diamond, wtf?” Gulp.

I was 7-7, which isn’t a great score in my book, but I was improving from 3-7! We were chasing down Blitzcrank. He ran all over through our jungle and got away. I started to recall only to be grabbed by Blitz through a blind wall and pulverized by Alistar. 7-8. Blitzcrank wrote “so easy”. You could physically see the blood pumping through my veins when he wrote that. You dare to mock the Kog? Have you not seen Kog’Maw? He’s literally a monster! I wanted to write “the only difference between you and me is I have a late game.” I refrained. Instead I wrote it with my unofficial penta kill.

I went from 7-8 to 18-9. I got so nasty. I just sat back, let the tanks tank and I just blew kids up. Blitz tried to ignore the fight and just run for me. I cut him so hard that he just turned to run. We cleaned up their team, took Baron for free, and just wrecked their base. After I killed Blitz again I wrote “gg so easy” much to the enemy team’s dismay. I really loved the threats of getting reported.

My biggest problem with this game was when Blitz flashed to grab me and Nunu said “you should be staying away from him.” Herp, derp, what the heck do you think I was doing? If he has to burn Flash to get me I’m obviously not out of position, I just can’t do anything against that as Kog when my Flash is down. He didn’t think about the fact that he only left lane after I got back to it. Also, when I got dove under tower from behind by Alistar and Blitz I asked Nunu to sit on my hip and stop recalling when I was getting back to lane and he just responded “no”. Yep, he’s a 900 elo Nunu. You don’t play Nunu because Ice Blast is a fun spell. You don’t play Nunu to consume creeps. You play Nunu so that you can put Blood Boil on your ADC, and then protect them and peel for them and then wreck late game. This Nunu thought that it came for free. Instead I had to do all the work and it just bugged the crap out of me.

GG, was a lot of work.

Why I Hate Darius

Darius was poor game design. Who, in their right mind, gives a tank an executing ultimate that comes off cooldown if it gets a kill? This was poorly designed, and something that the League didn’t need. Thankfully, Darius gets wrecked late game by Mordekaiser. Heck, early game I was pushing him around, but after three Fiora ganks before I was level six really set me back. I was so abused by the jungler that I was actually falling behind in creep score. At one point I remember seeing that it was 137 for me to 154 for Darius. Good job having your jungler win you the early game. Maybe go back to the drawing board in development and fix Darius.

Our Skarner wasn’t on Skype with us and we definitely felt it. It was annoying to not be able to communicate a re-engage or when to impale and who to impale. After the enemy team had Baron and our inhibitor down and was up in kills I figured it was over. However, our Vayne was ahead by a full Bloodthirster on the enemy Vayne! Darius couldn’t kill us anymore because Riven, Vayne, and myself all had Guardian Angel. When I got GA second item a couple people in the call said “oh hey, that’s a really good idea. That shuts down Darius hard!”

My favorite part about this game was my 49 magic pen hitting Fiora’s 0 magic resist. She does have 24 from runes, two more from masteries, and 52.5 at level 18 for a grand total of 78.5 MR. That helped me late game as she would just melt with only 22% magic damage reduction.

A Fiora ghost is a valuable ally. When they fought us in our base I actually managed to tank three people’s damage while staying just around 100 HP while they dropped. When they finally killed me I ran my Fiora ghost around and it healed me while my GA was bringing me back. I just laughed at the ridiculous damage and spell vamp from that Fiora ghost! We did as much damage to their base as we could, but didn’t want to lose for staying too long.

When the next Baron popped Riven and I were in bot lane. We started running to Baron but we knew we wouldn’t get there in time. Nunu tried to run in and ult to steal it, but got interrupted from his ultimate. His Consume wasn’t enough, and the enemy team secured Baron. However, Riven, Morde, and Vayne were ready to rumble. We caught them before they could get out of the Baron pit. Taking Fiora as a ghost we were able to clean up the enemy team quickly.

We use a Fiora ghost to tank both mid turrets while fighting an angry bird. After we had the inhibitor down the enemy team started filing out one at a time. This was our chance to capitalize on the enemy team throw. We turn and go all out. The enemy tries to react but Vayne is too much for them. I fall after getting as much damage out as possible. Vayne kills Darius. Vayne kills Anivia. Vayne kills Fiora. Vayne is killing Vladimir and Nunu’s ultimate finishes channeling and steals the fourth kill. Vayne kills Vayne and starts crying on the inside for missing the Penta. Not Vayne’s fault, and it’s hard to blame Nunu when he was doing the right thing to slow the entire enemy team. Still, a Penta is a Penta, and Vayne was robbed of hers.

I had a friend spectating this game who had to stop watching after Miss Fortune got her third triple kill while still in the laning phase. At one point this Miss Fortune was 16-1, having the game of her League career. With her team on her back they soared to a commanding 13-27 team kill lead. However, our team never once tried to surrender.

I was having a splendid time top. I survived a level 2 Nautilus gank. Well, more than survived it. I actually killed Shen for first blood while Nautilus came to his rescue. Then, with only ~150 HP left on me, Nautilus had to turn and run or face the fury of my pushing creep wave. That little bit of snowball actually helped me beat Shen in the lane.

I refused to leave top. It was my sanctuary. It was my method of victory. I knew that I couldn’t beat Miss Fortune now that she was this far ahead and running cleanse for my blind. I knew that I had to win unconventionally.

Shen would ult away from top to a team fight happening somewhere else on the map. I would immediately drop a shroom to push the lane and rush to his turret. I could beat anyone on their team 1v1 as long as their name wasn’t Miss Fortune. In a wild attempt I mapped my way through their top jungle with mushrooms, waited for their team to show, and backdoored the inhibitor turret. It had about three auto attacks worth health left on it, so it went down quickly. However, it sealed my doom. Nautilus and Miss Fortune emerged from the jungle, enraged by the inherent global taunt that I possess. However, it was too late. The damage was done. The inhibitor was exposed.

Now, with LichBane and 500 Ability Power I had the ability to take their inhibitor if they left it alone for more than 10 seconds. I bought a couple wards and placed them in popular jungle exits so my team wouldn’t get flanked by the much stronger adversary. I moved only through the jungle, shrooming where I knew people would walk. Miss Fortune had Guardian Angel and oracles elixir, so I couldn’t rely on my passive to hide from her anymore. I told my team that I was going on a suicide mission, so they should apply pressure elsewhere. I knew that we couldn’t win a team fight for dragon, especially if I wasn’t there and didn’t have mushrooms in place. However, with dragon coming up at 43:20, if I timed my inhibitor kill correctly I could pull the attention of the other team to allow my team enough time. And then Tristana died for no reason. Welp, screw it.

I come out of stealth and step around the corner. I time my LichBane procs with my Q, W, and R. I take it down much faster than I had anticipated, so I step up to the tree in the enemy’s base and recall. I show up to the back end of a team fight. We manage to take down Orianna and Miss Fortune and only trade another Tristana corpse for it. With super creeps pushing top I survey bottom lane to see if it’s viable to push. I see that my team can’t win a fight without me, but more importantly the other team sees that my team can’t win a team fight.

It was at this point that my post got it’s title. Nunu, on the other team, says in all-chat “Teemo” so I politely reply “Hi guy” and he comes back with “it’s not cute anymore.” He was either referencing the mushrooms covering the map that he took the privilege of walking over, or my constant pressure on his top lane.

They begin to gather mid, but before they can I come out from behind Orianna and take full advantage of my Deathfire Grasp, melting her health bar and watching her wastefully try to ult me. I wanted to say “Was that cute enough for you?” but I didn’t want to void my chance at getting honor this game! With the bunny rabbit Teemo skin I definitely looked cute.

Then something miraculous happened. The stars aligned. I was in their top jungle (where Teemo lives). I had ward coverage, I had mushrooms. I saw the enemy team mid and my minion wave gathering top. One, two, three mid. Four mid. Five mid. Teemo time.

I sprint into the enemy base and shroom the full creep wave. It’s gone, and my super minions are on my tail. I let them tank as I watch my LichBane timer. Ok, get both Nexus turrets and get out. Just need to get these turrets and get out. I can do this. First turret drops. I am killing the second turret, expecting to see the enemy team show up any second. However, they had decided to dive my team at our inhibitor turret in mid at the exact same time. They were in no position to back out. Their second Nexus turret falls.

I panic. I start to attack the Nexus. My heart starts to race. I can just picture Nautilus popping out and ulting me and Miss Fortune ending my wonderful run through their base. Instead a wild Shen appears. He flashes (literally) into view, gets as close as he can through minions and taunts at me. I flash to avoid the taunt, and drop a mushroom to give me another LichBane proc and continue working on the Nexus. He exhausts me and hits his Randuins. It literally felt like I was getting 0 attacks per second. Then I saw the “gg”s showing up in all-chat. The other team realized that Shen couldn’t hurt me, had already missed his taunt and blew his exhaust and they weren’t going to get back in time. The game was over. The Nexus was exploding, and neither team could believe it.

Legendary Kha’Zix

First blood! Usually, this is something that I love to hear the old announcer lady yell. However, in this game, it was the enemy Kha’Zix picking up first blood. Our jungle Nunu was close by, full health, with red buff, so he decided to run up and finish off that Kha’Zix to even out the lane. Double kill. I’m already depressed.

Bot lane was Ezreal vs Ezreal, both with the Pulsefire skin. The difference was Blitz vs Soraka. Each time I would trade with Ezreal I would lose. Even if I came out ahead and took one auto attack he would get a heal and mana from Soraka and be 100%. It was a frustrating situation. The “Legendary!” yells from the announcer lady didn’t help by 10 minutes into the game.

The rest of this game was a blur. I farmed my brains out, played safe as best I could, only get greedy when Kha’Zix was around. I skipped my Dorans and went straight for Phage. I didn’t want to sacrifice early health in lane, but I knew that Ezreal wasn’t going to kill me. I did pick up one Dorans when I got my Vampiric Scepter, but then I stayed in lane until I could buy my Bloodthirster. From there Trinity Force came very quickly. I was getting further and further ahead.

I do remember one time seeing the enemy closing in on me. Nidalee came through our jungle past red, and I could see Kha’Zix coming through tri-bush near Dragon. I blinked over the wall towards red and sprinted up to mid lane. I knew I was going to be follow, but we were able to turn that around into a kill.

Kha’Zix dominated his lane, but he didn’t buy any defensive items. In the current meta of League of Legends if you’re melee you must build defensive or pay the consequences. If Kha’Zix missed his jump on someone he died. We were actually able to catch him out like this once. We saw him waste his jump near our red and we all committed on him. He cleverly used his ult to escape us, only to try to 2-man Dragon. We shattered those dreams pretty quickly. We were able to double kill Kha’Zix and Pantheon and take the dragon for free.

In our last team fight I watched as Kha’Zix rounded the corned into our jungle near wraiths. I was standing in the bush behind the Lizard Elder. I shot a Q into Kha and a W across his team, then watched as he jumped towards me. I Arcane Shifted back and immediately wound up my ultimate. It shoved me to full stacks on my passive and Nunu gave me a Blood Boil. Game time.

My penta kill had two “kills secured” by team mates, but I wasn’t worried about that. I was just thrilled to have my Guardian Angel protecting me, full stacks on my Bloodthirster, and Black Cleaver chunking people’s armor down to nearly nothing.

That last push gave us enough time to get to their Nexus. Then we just stood as a team and fended off their onslaught. We were almost 9000 gold ahead by the end. It was a glorious game, worth all three honor that I got.

Global Taunt

Teemo definitely has advantages that other champions doesn’t really bring to the game. However, there is one large draw-back to playing Teemo; the global taunt. Time and time again in this game I would have someone on the other team drop what they were doing and come to kill me. Luckily, it took at least 3 people on the other team to have to gank me, which took a lot of pressure off of other lanes. I actually killed Jax twice before level 6. I was so far ahead that LeBlanc had to come up from mid to swap lanes, and we traded kills.

We never really could stick to lanes; Sion and I kept lane-swapping to keep our obvious advantages. Little did we know Miss Fortune was becoming a Miss Monster!

Our lead dwindled into nothingness. My split pushing wasn’t paying off. I had managed to take bottom and middle inhibitor once I had my LichBane, but we weren’t able to get to Miss Fortune in team fights, so she was deading all of us. Our spirits were low. We could control parts of the map with mushrooms, but oracles were prevailing for the other team, combined with Banshee’s Veil. We had a prolonged team fight where we were able to get three easy kills by dragging the enemy team through a field of mushrooms up near Baron and top lane. Still unable to close out the game.

After one team fight, Jax and Nunu were pushing our base. Our chances of winning this game looked bleak. We honestly thought they would take our base in this push. After taking middle inhibitor they swung to bot and tanked the bottom inhibitor turret. We managed to get a kill, and we kited them long enough for Sion to come back up and get another kill. Death timers were up over a minute, and each death felt like a loss.

We were in a constant state of panic. We were too afraid to team fight, and too afraid of getting caught by Miss Fortune. Luckily, the game went long enough that four people on my team had oracles, so no wards could stay on the map for very long. I decided to try to catch the other team when they would go for their blue. We sat and waited. We saw them grouped mid, so we took a chance. We sprinted up towards their bot lane inhibitor. With two LichBanes and about 700 Ability Power on both APs we dropped it in seconds. We rushed the last standing Nexus turret. It fell almost instantly.

Then something magical happened. The enemy team had recalled and they came pouring out around their Nexus. I wanted to keep attacking the Nexus, but I knew my fate. Their whole team was affected by the global taunt of Teemo. I started to run, but they wouldn’t let this squishy bunny rabbit escape. I was melted by a full LeBlanc combo. We finished off the Nexus followed by several “gg”s in team chat. The game was over, finally, and somehow we had managed to win.

This game was such a miracle because we couldn’t beat that Miss Fortune, and we lost almost every team fight that we had. Hurray for back-dooring!
