Legendary Kha’Zix

First blood! Usually, this is something that I love to hear the old announcer lady yell. However, in this game, it was the enemy Kha’Zix picking up first blood. Our jungle Nunu was close by, full health, with red buff, so he decided to run up and finish off that Kha’Zix to even out the lane. Double kill. I’m already depressed.

Bot lane was Ezreal vs Ezreal, both with the Pulsefire skin. The difference was Blitz vs Soraka. Each time I would trade with Ezreal I would lose. Even if I came out ahead and took one auto attack he would get a heal and mana from Soraka and be 100%. It was a frustrating situation. The “Legendary!” yells from the announcer lady didn’t help by 10 minutes into the game.

The rest of this game was a blur. I farmed my brains out, played safe as best I could, only get greedy when Kha’Zix was around. I skipped my Dorans and went straight for Phage. I didn’t want to sacrifice early health in lane, but I knew that Ezreal wasn’t going to kill me. I did pick up one Dorans when I got my Vampiric Scepter, but then I stayed in lane until I could buy my Bloodthirster. From there Trinity Force came very quickly. I was getting further and further ahead.

I do remember one time seeing the enemy closing in on me. Nidalee came through our jungle past red, and I could see Kha’Zix coming through tri-bush near Dragon. I blinked over the wall towards red and sprinted up to mid lane. I knew I was going to be follow, but we were able to turn that around into a kill.

Kha’Zix dominated his lane, but he didn’t buy any defensive items. In the current meta of League of Legends if you’re melee you must build defensive or pay the consequences. If Kha’Zix missed his jump on someone he died. We were actually able to catch him out like this once. We saw him waste his jump near our red and we all committed on him. He cleverly used his ult to escape us, only to try to 2-man Dragon. We shattered those dreams pretty quickly. We were able to double kill Kha’Zix and Pantheon and take the dragon for free.

In our last team fight I watched as Kha’Zix rounded the corned into our jungle near wraiths. I was standing in the bush behind the Lizard Elder. I shot a Q into Kha and a W across his team, then watched as he jumped towards me. I Arcane Shifted back and immediately wound up my ultimate. It shoved me to full stacks on my passive and Nunu gave me a Blood Boil. Game time.

My penta kill had two “kills secured” by team mates, but I wasn’t worried about that. I was just thrilled to have my Guardian Angel protecting me, full stacks on my Bloodthirster, and Black Cleaver chunking people’s armor down to nearly nothing.

That last push gave us enough time to get to their Nexus. Then we just stood as a team and fended off their onslaught. We were almost 9000 gold ahead by the end. It was a glorious game, worth all three honor that I got.

Despite dominating bot lane and our mid going Legendary, when the game went late the other team was winning team fights. I was forced to avoid Blitz hooks, Lee Sin Qs, and Jax leaps while staying out of Tristana’s auto attack range. It was miserable. No one was peeling for me. To make matters worse my Diana from mid tried to dive 1v5 after the other team had just won a team fight.

The surrender votes started to come. The first one was more of a wake-up call for us, because we had been ahead the whole game. I was on Skype with Obscene Tangerin, our Nocturne, and he asked me “are we surrendering?” and I replied with “definitely not.” Surrender vote failed 3-2.

The game goes on, we have a team fight near river. Our team splits. I have Blitz and Jax come for me. This time Nunu sticks around to peel them off me. He even ults to disrupt them. This gives me the time I need to cut them down. I drop Jax, finish off Blitz and kill the Lee Sin as he comes over to fight. I start to get excited, but then I see Vlad and Trist. How can Vlad and Trist be here? They should have been fighting the rest of my team! The two of them finish me off as I hear the announcer say “Quadra kill!” Not for me. For Tristana.

My team let that worthless Trist who got outplayed in bot lane back into the game. They let her stack four kills right in a row. They let her sit in the back and just poke away at them. I was quite worried about where this game was going.

After we re-spawn we’re still pressuring Baron. We catch a glimpse of Lee Sin in bot lane so we go to town on Baron. Baron is getting low, but the other team has a ward over the wall. I see Jax waiting to jump in to steal it. I know we have smite and the enemy doesn’t. Just as Baron is about to go down Jax comes over the wall. I’m not worried because there are 5 of us and 1 of him. However, Blitz trades Jax for Nocturne as Noc goes flying over the wall from a Blitz grab. I finish off Baron, Arcane Shift over the wall (after Jax flashed out) and finish him off. Blitz runs to me so I kill him too. Double kill. Vlad and Trist come to fight just by the purple side’s lizard buff. I’m able to melt Vlad and picked up my last kill on Lee Sin as he showed up late to the party. With my team mates left we take some mid turrets and are forced to back. I pick up the enemy blue buff and Dragon on my way home.

By this point we had already failed three surrender votes, but now we have hope.

The enemy team is pressuring bot lane, what I didn’t notice was that the tower only had a couple hundred HP left. The enemy team rushes it, drops the tower, but doesn’t back off after that. They stayed to get the inhibitor. Now is our chance. I’m 6 item. I have double elixirs popped. My Guardian Angel is up. As the fight opens the enemy team is lined up in a perfect line, making my ult hit all five enemy champions. Jax wastes no time getting on top of me. However, he tried to use his stun to get a solid initiation on me. As soon as he lands on me I blink away and melt his health bar. I’m able to walk through their whole team. Tristana is the last one up, making her escape. I see that she is outside of my range, and it seemed like she was getting away. I flash combo a Mystic Shot that tags her and starts to slow her down. I close the gap, finish her off and watch the 600 gold roll up from killing a Legendary kill streak, and then hear the announcer yell “Ace!”

Nocturne tells me that we have time to win. I sprint mid. I watch as Nunu and Jayce tank turret fire while I drop the turrets. Mid turret. Mid inhib. Nexus turrets. Nexus. The sweet taste of victory fills my soul! Despite my team wanting to quit time and time again we were resilient and prevailed. We overcame the opposition, we bested our adversaries, and it was glorious! In my second game with the new honor mechanic I was awarded 5 honor points. I felt like I was on “Who’s Line is it Anyway?”

Fewest Deaths

I don’t know how this Ezreal game happened. I got an early kill which turned into one Doran’s blade. I ended up having three of them with phage and a vampiric scepter. I told myself that I’d go back to buy at 2550 to get my Bloodthirster. At 4250 gold I went back to base. I can only remember recalling once or twice in this whole game. I had crazy shopping sprees when I did go back!

I left base with Bloodthirster, Phage, and Zeal. Next trip back to base I had Trinity Force and double pot. Next trip back I had Guardian Angel. After I died with GA I bought Last Whisper. I felt pretty stacked by that point. Kha’Zix had a number of kills late, but lost his lane hard. He was defending at the inhibitor turret, which always makes our jungle fun. The enemy Rengar lived in top lane, wanted to fight Kha’Zix I guess.

I abused my Trinity Force proc for a triple kill on Ahri, then I was chasing Corki for the quad and RAN OUT OF MANA! It was super aggravating. Also, I pegged him with my Q and an auto attack over a wall, bringing him down to less than 100 life. I couldn’t finish him. By the time I had mana to E closer he had jumped the wall to his base. Being the idiot that I am I chased him over the wall to fight a full health Blitz and Ahri. I may have lost that battle.

It was a fun game, the only disagreement on my team was when Lee wanted to push bot because we had bot inhib. I told him that bot would push itself and we could take Baron when they went to defend it. Instead, someone on the other team got caught out, we took that opportunity to just take towers top for free.

So we’re moving through the jungle to top lane and Rengar jumps me. Now, understand that at this point I’m done getting kills and I’m done dying, so my record of 16-5 stands. Rengar was probably 1-11 at that point. I burst him down to just above 100 hit points, but knowing that he used his ult to get to me, I know he doesn’t have it up. So instead of killing him I just walk around with him. Me, Soraka, Lux, and Rengar, hanging out in the enemy jungle. I wanted Soraka to get the kill, but her Q’s were doing so little damage to him that he could have used life steal to sustain off me while she tried. Lux eventually ended his spawn with a Q and we continued on our merry way. Lux and Soraka were sitting in the same room and told me how hard they were laughing at that while it happened. It was quite a gem. Then the enemy Nexus blew up.

After we were finished playing our Tuesday Night Ranked 5’s we decided to try one more game in the blind pick queue. We had an interesting team comp, but it was highly effective as a team unit.

Yorick is rated one of the most obnoxious laners in the game. I already knew that going into this game, and tried to make the most of it. After we tower dove Yorick to give me my second kill, the tower executed me, leaving me at 2-3. After we grouped to ace them and then force a baron fight they promptly surrendered, but not before an aged-woman’s voice yelled “Legendary!”
